What We Do

Our Vision

Our vision is for adolescent boys and adult men to achieve self-sufficiency and have equal opportunities for success.  All individuals deserve the opportunity to improve their lives and the lives of their families.   By providing clients with professional attire and accessories, and developing with them a culture of confidence, T.I.E. can empower adolescent boys and adult men to reach their full potential personally and professionally.  Because poverty and lack of opportunity are interrelated, we believe that by providing integrative programming, we are able to more fully recognize our clients’ needs.  Achieving this synergy will allow Total Image Empowerment to make real, measurable changes and will allow us to generate a long-term impact.

Our Programs

SWAGG Program

SWAGG (Strategic Ways of Acquiring Great Gentlemen) is a “Rite of Passage” program for 13 year old males that offers a unique approach to shaping a boy into a strong man. Select boys will go through a program with clearly defined objectives, goals, and ceremonies—with the hope of achieving manhood and becoming the heroes of their generation that can change the world. SWAGG believes that without a clear path and a clear understanding of what it means to be a man, what eventually develops is confusion and a loss of direction.

Almost every culture… (Except Western cultures) have some form of a rite of passage for their boys to become recognized as men. SWAGG is about defining the path forward for a boy to become a complete man/gentleman. This program is a tangible way to formalize confidence and belief in young males to succeed in life. The SWAGG program talks with young males about adolescence, manhood, accountability and his growing responsibilities as they turn into men. Some key elements of our program include:

  • Goal Setting
  • Life Style Education
  • Character/Confidence Building
  • Personal Hygiene/Grooming
  • Essential Etiquette for Young Men
  • Decision Making
  • Personal Brand
  • Financial Education
  • Networking
  • Leadership Training
Suit Up Program

The TIE Suit Up Initiative is a service that provides men with suits and dress clothes to prepare them for job interviews. Each TIE client receives one suit when he has a job interview and can return for additional professional work attire when he finds work. On his initial visit a client works one-on-one with a highly-trained volunteer Personal Shopper, who helps him select professional attire and also provides support and encouragement as he prepares for his upcoming interviews. TIE will provide the client with a suit appropriate for the industry in which he is interviewing and, if available, accessories. After a client is offered a job he may return to TIE for additional clothing pieces and accessories to make several outfits, providing him with the foundation for a professional wardrobe.

Our goal is for each man to leave TIE with a complete outfit that will help him feel confident in his interview, and ultimately, in hopes of being offered a job.  Job-ready men come to TIE by referral only from a range of non-profit organizations within the community.

Tie Society

The TIE Society is a men’s network group that meets periodically in a professional setting. Members learn successful ways to network and market themselves. The TIE Brand will create opportunities to gain networking and professional skills in a group setting, and allows men to continue to grow and develop on an individual basis. The TIE Society will help members establish relationships that will benefit them for a lifetime. The TIE Society will work with young males and donate time to mentor young males in the community.

We rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses for support.
